Unico Venetian is a Scotland-based specialist decorative surface company delivering Venetian plaster, polished plaster, Marmorino, microcement, clay plaster, Tadelakt and bespoke finishes throughout Scotland and the UK. Founded by Daniel Sheppard, Unico brings 17 years’ plastering experience, including over 8 years specialising in Venetian plaster, microcement and bespoke finishes. As a Forcrete approved installer since 2019 and a Clayworks approved installer, we combine technical preparation with a considered approach to colour, texture and detail. Every finish is designed and applied by hand, with samples developed around the architecture, lighting and wider scheme. The result is a surface considered for both its appearance and practical setting. We work closely with homeowners, interior designers, architects and contractors, from the first conversation and specification through to installation on site.

MEET DANIEL
Unico was founded by me, Daniel Sheppard, in Fife in 2018. I started as an apprentice plasterer in 2009 and now have 17 years’ experience in the plastering trade. After moving into specialist decorative finishes, I have spent over 8 years developing my skills in Venetian plaster, microcement and bespoke surface finishes. My training has taken me beyond the UK, including specialist training in Italy, alongside continued investment in advanced masterclasses and professional development with decorative plaster artists including Nahue Mirabel and Salvatore Capozzi. This training has helped me develop traditional Italian techniques alongside contemporary approaches to polished plaster, Marmorino, marble effects and other bespoke finishes. I have been a Forcrete approved installer since 2019 and am Clayworks approved. Today, 17 years in the plastering trade, over 8 years in specialist finishes, training in Italy and continued development form the foundation of every Unico Venetian project.
